“Fireworks” took a while to grow on me, but now I’m at the point where it just hits me in the gut every time. This recording segues into “Essplode,” the first Animal Collective song I really loved from the start of the decade, back when they were called Avey Tare, Panda Bear, and the Geologist. Please note that this footage is shot up on the stage so that we can get a glimpse of what they’re actually doing up there. As it turns out, the Geologist isn’t just playing a game of Snood through the entire show.

Well, I’m pretty sure this is Lollapalooza ‘06, I’m not certain though. Either way this is some nice pro-shot/edited footage, and there’s not nearly enough of that for Sleater-Kinney online. Enjoy it.
